The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica will be the first minivan in the U.S. to be available as a hybrid. Many consumers, in fact, have indicated that they are looking forward to the plug-in variant. For these people, they are in luck because the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has been confirmed for a pre-Christmas release. That means buyers can get the minivan as a gift for a loved one or for themselves.

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, in fact, was already unveiled earlier this year at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. An un-camouflaged test mule was also spotted and captured in various spy photos.

It has been confirmed that the hybrid minivan will be able to go 30 miles on electric power alone. It will also have the same 3.6-liter V6 engine under its hood that delivers 248 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an electronically variable transmission.

Here is the best news: since the car will be fitted with a 16kWh battery, buyers will be eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit.

The vehicle is slated for a November release, meaning it will be available in time for the holidays.

The Chrysler Pacifica hybrid will be available in both Touring and Limited trims. The model itself will also be noticeably different from the standard Chrysler Pacifica. The grille has been completely redesigned. A charging port has also been added on the front left fender. The exterior will be coated with a Teal Coat hue.
