Some of the older folks may remember the old Dodge Challenger Trans-Am racing series that was popular in the 1970s. Well, if you are feeling nostalgic, then you may be delighted to hear that FCA US LLC is bringing the series back for the 2017 Dodge Challenger.

The T/A series will be available in October and have three options: T/A, T/A Plus, and T/A 392.

Regardless of the variant you select, all three will have a new hood with a large center-mounted scoop. The fuel-filler door, body-side stripes, rear wing, trunk lid, and the roof are all adorned in satin black. Much like the Hellcat engine design, the T/A model also has a ram-air design that enables air to filter from the headlamp to the engine intake.

To distinguish it from an ordinary Dodge Challenger, the T/A series come with T/A logos illuminated by LED lights. Every model will also have a standard performance exhaust system. Under the hood is a 5.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 375 hp. For the T/A 392, the V8 engine delivers 485 hp.

All three T/A variants come with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, but consumers have the choice of upgrading to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Finally, the Dodge Challenger T/A also gets a standard Super Track Pak. This is a high-performance kit that comes with a three-mode stability control, high-performance brake lining, Bilstein shocks, and a suspension that has been lowered by half an inch.
